When you register, volunteer, donate, or contact us, we collect the information you provide — names, contact details, and the answers on our forms. For students under 18, we collect parent/guardian information and verified consent. We also receive basic technical data (like browser type) needed to operate the website.
How we use it
- To review applications and operate the program (matching, communication, safeguarding).
- To send updates you've asked for.
- To keep participants safe — including verifying identity and consent.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We share it only as needed to run the program (for example, with screening providers for mentor background checks, with your knowledge) or when the law requires it.
Children's privacy
We collect information about children under 18 only with verified parent/guardian consent, and only what's needed for the program. Parents may review, correct, or request deletion of their child's information at any time by contacting us.
Data retention & your rights
We keep application data only as long as needed for program purposes. You may request a copy, correction, or deletion of your information at any time — contact us and we'll respond promptly.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections and limited access to personal data. No system is perfect; if we ever discover a breach affecting you, we'll tell you.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll note it here and — for active participants — notify you directly.
